 | Provenance Peter Cleverley & Bing Dawe Exhibition 23rd July-5th September 2005 Preview Friday July 22nd 6pm Artist’s Talk Saturday 23rd July 1.30pm Provenance connects two of New Zealand’s foremost contemporary artists together in a celebration of the influence and inspiration born of the Waitaki district. Cleverley’s paintings will be exhibited alongside Bing Dawe’s sculpture. Both artists draw inspiration from the land to convey universal messages about the human condition and man’s relationship with the land. |
 | Found Myra Hauschild, Claire Robertshaw, Lisa Ponweiser, Rececca Harris Exhibition 19th-31st July 2005 Preview Monday 18th July 6pm Artist’s Talk Saturday 23rd July 2.30pm Found is an exhibition of paintings, photography and printmaking by four Canterbury women/artists/teachers. The artists are motivated by a desire to maintain their own art practices alongside their teaching careers. Found explores the idea that the discarded can be valuable, and collected and cherished by others. |
 | Pleasure of Stitch Ashburton Embroiderer’s Guild Exhibition 2nd-14th August 2005 This popular biennial exhibition showcases a selection of work from members of the Ashburton Embroiderer’s Guild. Members are invited to submit up to four pieces each, which have been completed since their exhibition two years ago. The pieces demonstrate the wide variety of styles and techniques currently being applied by embroiderers and range from the very traditional through to contemporary pieces. |
 | Temuka Pottery 1954-2004 Exhibition 20th August -25th September Preview Friday 19th August 6pm Temuka Pottery was a household name by the 1970s. Come and take advantage of the opportunity to view a variety of uniquely kiwi domestic ware and gain an insight into a significant aspect of local cultural heritage. The exhibition is a collection from the North Otago Museum including a recreated 1950s living room that exhibits Temuka Pottery. |
